Two Moons lives in the mountains of rural New Mexico with her husband Tomas and their cats Karma and Zen. They live in an off-the-grid home, powered by the sun and wind, that they designed and built themselves. Their lives revolve around sustainable practices, creative endeavors, and extensive vegetable, fruit and herb gardens.
Born in Toronto, Canada, Two Moons relocated to Michigan, U.S.A. in l967. A great part of her life was influenced by the words of Henry David Thoreau, “to live deliberately and front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could learn what it had to teach, and not when I came to die, discover that I had not lived.”
In the early seventies Two Moons operated a home-based food cooperative, and later for six years managed a Natural Foods Cooperative store. She raised seven children, has home birthed, homesteaded, and was a home schooling mom for twenty years starting in the late nineteen seventies. For five years she hosted monthly women’s moon lodges and vegan potlucks.
Two Moons is a self-taught herbalist, fiber and mosaic tile artist, architect and house builder, with numerous health related degrees, including that of Naturopath and Lymphologist. Her cookbook Peace In every Bite is the result of almost forty years of experimentation with vegetarian and vegan cooking.

Photography, Cover Design & Website by Rachel Timlin (Kid #6)
Rachel lives in Detroit (Hamtramck) with her husband Nik Wahi and their dogs Phoebe & Mia.
She started eating a vegetarian diet at age 12, shortly after discovering the truth behind the disappearance of Samuel, her childhood pet lamb. Apparently, he didn't really 'wander off into the woods on an adventure', as she had always thought.
Rachel's favorite recipe from Peace in Every Bite is, without a doubt, the Chocolate Cake on page 178 (with Coconut Cake Filling), which she claims to be the best she's ever tasted (vegan and non-vegan alike).
